Katarina Blomqvist
Biography
Katarina Blomqvist is a doctoral researcher at the Department of Film, Aalto University. Holding an MA in Philosophy and trained in philosophical practice, she engages with listening as a critical and creative lens in documentary encounters, examining how attentiveness and presence contribute to the co-creation of meaning. Drawing from an enactivist view on perception, she explores listening as an embodied and situated approach. As an artist-researcher in a Kone Foundation-funded multidisciplinary project within the Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care, she also considers the ethical dimensions of technologically mediated listening in contexts shaped by vulnerability and old age.

Invitation to Interlistening: Corespiration and Resonance in Documentary Encounters
Symposium participation
How can documentary encounters be infused with life? I explore listening as an artistic and philosophical practice, reflecting on interlistening, attunement, and sonic presence. Through an audio-centered perspective and a phenomenological sensibility, I examine how embodied encounters unfold as resonant spaces of meaning, trust, and reciprocity in documentary work.
