Symposium participation
Free as Bird s explores migration, displacement, and ecological loss through an interplay of human voice, AI-generated birdsong, and immersive video installation. In dialogue with the theme Aerate, the project transforms human voice, and performative movement into fluid, borderless expressions, like air revitalizing dormant matter. It reimagines migration not just as physical movement but as a state of constant transformation, where language, identity, and belonging are continuously reshaped. The installation is an AI-Bird Song Choir, where folk songs about migration are translated into imagined bird languages through AI, blending human and non-human voices into a poetic, surreal soundscape. The multi-screen video installation features the artist singing the bird songs in landscapes shaped by nature and displacement, wearing delicate wings made from fragmented maps. The AI-altered, dreamlike imagery mirrors the fluidity of migration and the fragility of home..
